Overview

The Occupational Health & Safety Representative (SHE Rep) course equips appointed representatives with the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to perform their statutory duties effectively in the workplace. The appointment of Health & Safety Representatives is a legal requirement in terms of Section 17 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, making this course essential for organisational compliance.

Course Objectives

On completion of this course, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the purpose and requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Explain the duties and responsibilities of employers and employees in terms of the Act
  • Understand the statutory role, powers, and responsibilities of a SHE Representative
  • Conduct health and safety activities in accordance with legal and organisational requirements
  • Identify, report, and assist in resolving health and safety issues in the workplace
  • Participate effectively in health and safety structures and committees
